It is important that all OPSEU local 330 members attend the General Meeting.  In the 2007-2008 school year we implemented Unit Meetings which deal with the specific issues of each of the different units within our Local. These unit meetings have been very successful, and that should enable us to get through the business of the local fairly quickly at our General Meeting.  We are required under the OPSEU Constitution to have these meetings, and we need to have quorum.

General Membership Meeting Information

November 16, 2010

Good Afternoon OPSEU members,

"Past performance is the best indicator of future success."

I would like to thank all of those that made the General Membership meeting last night at Bear Creek. We were able to provide the members with some great information about what your local has accomplished over the past two years and where we are going for the future.

We kicked off our PINK SHIRT campaign and talked about our upcoming socials, watch the website; we have Pizza Nights and Hockey with the Colts, plus another theatre event planned for May.

Edvantage was voted down by members in attendance.

Elections were exciting and I am very pleased that the membership has placed their confidence in my abilities, and elected me as your President for another term. The membership also returned many of the same members to the new LEC and with the addition of two newly elected stewards; we look forward to building the strength of our local.

My focus is to stay on track, to move from one achievement to another, and to build our strength. Collective efforts make us strong. My inspiration is the respect I have for the daily work that you all do, often under trying circumstances; my desire is to make your working conditions as rewarding and safe as possible.
